Did you know that there is a new gold standard in body fat assessment? DXA scanning is a quick and pleasant replacement for underwater weighing that provides much more information than just percent body fat.
A Bodycomp scan will show how much muscle, fat and bone are in your limbs and torso.
The
Bodycomp techs
will use this information to look for differences in muscle symmetry in
your
arms and legs. They will also check your body fat percentage against
what is a
healthy normal for your age and activity level.

Why should you get a DXA scan? Weight scales can be misleading since body weight is muscle, fat and bone all added together. Body composition analysis by DXA allows you to see these individual components.
Getting scanned every three months allows you to monitor your changes.
In addition to being a great resource for athletes to measure their bodies, a Bodycomp scan is equally as beneficial for the "every day" individual, as a tool to reduce the risks of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity.
