Tenzing Hillary Everest
Marathon is an International High
Altitude Adventure Sports Event being held at
Mt. Everest Base Camp, criss-crossing
the Highland Sherpa Trails of Khumbu Valley on May 29
every year, to commemorate the historical ascent on
Mount Everest by Late Tenzing
Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary
on May 29, 1953 . Everest Marathon,
one of the Toughest Marathon,
is open for all High Altitude Running
enthusiasts above 18 years of age with sound
mind and body.
Everest Marathon, 2008 has been marvelously
participated by 136 Nepalese and Western
runners. On hand at Namche Bazar, the Sherpa
Capital at 11,300 feet were glorifying this Adventure Race and
morale boosting the participants of this
Mountain Running event.
Everest Marathon is considered by
many High Altitude Running lovers as
the ultimate race or the
ultimate challenge of this form of
extreme sport . These runners endure the
harsh weather and even digest
altitude sickness to participate in this
Highest Marathon Racing.
