Course follows the Trans-Canada Trail east from New Brighton Park, cuts through Confederation Park, then continues on the TC trail to Hastings. It comes back out onto the bike path, which becomes gravel and leads to the Burnaby Mountain Velodrome. From there it winds through the trails of Burnaby Mountain to the southeast side, where it parallels the Stoney Creek to the turnaround at Burnaby Lake. The return route takes you through some different bike trails on Burnaby Mountain, and then through Barnet Marine Park, and a trail which leads you back to the bike path near the Velodrome. From there you double back the same way you came to the finish.
