I'm new to the club so this is my first flash event.
Plan is to leave Vancouver around 6am. We can drive to the trailhead, or if people feel ambitious we can bike there and lock our bikes up in the forest. Use the new trail up to Deeks lakes, bag a peak or two, run into snow, get lost, get found, finish at Cypress, retrieve bikes (if applicable), carbo-hyrate with chilled frothy beverages at a pub.
Prerunning the Sunshine in September course (yet again!) to make sure directions are correct and that I can manage the entire distance. Anyone want to join us?
If you've been watching the event calendar, you likely know that the Sunshine In September event is scheduled for the first weekend in September. You may have also noticed that we held a Flash recon run of the course to fine-tune directions back in June. But, since I have yet to stay on course or finish the entire distance, I feel the need to try this one more time before the official event.

We will meet at Lightning Lake parking lot in Manning Park on Saturday August 28th at 10:00AM to run the second loop of Frosty Mountain Trail Race. The distance is 23 km, time anywhere from 2.5- 4hrs. Pay parking in effect ,cash only.
It is always difficult to arrange carpooling!
If you are interested to carpool, send me a message, whether you need a ride or if you are offering a ride and I will do my best to match you up, "no guarantees!!!!!

Are you in town for the International Marketing Conference September 21 - 23? Would you like to go for a run with a local? Need your endorphin fix? Afraid of getting lost or eaten by a bear? Join IMC speaker and IIMA Director Ean Jackson for afreegroup run in and around Vancouver’s famous Stanley Park. The run will be anywhere up to an hour long. Pace will depend on who comes along.

What: A short group run (about 10km) in celebration of St. Nikolaus Day on the 6th of December. Make sure to bring a flash light as we'll be running in the trails in the dark. After the run we'll have a brief get together with Gluehwein. Please car pool and/or have a designated driver.

17 days running through Patagonia (totally up my alley!), Dec 17 2010 - Jan 4 2011 (yes, it's over Christmas & New Year's). About $3000 plus airfare.
A Christmas Eve morning dash along major bike routes and the seawall around Downtown Vancouver, starting and ending in Vancouver's historic Strathcona neighborhood.

Since I'm in Victoria visiting here for New Years I know I'll miss the FA 50k in Vancouver. To start the year off right I wanted to run 50k to get my ultra year started right!
Starting from Shellbourne and San Juan street in Saanich I plan to run along the Cordova Bay Rd South, Beach Rd, King George, Dallas Rd to Beacon Hill park to mile 'zero'. That's appox 21k. Turn around and head back. Join my family for a 8k loop to complete the 50k.
We're starting in Deep Cove at 8am. Going up to Picnic Area via BP and Old Buck, down to Mushroom Parking Lot, Neds, Bottle Top, along Fisherman's, Circuit 8, Lynne Loop, come back to Gazebo, go through Lynne Canyon, BP up all the way up Seymour Grind, maybe back up to Picnic Area again turning left at top of Seymour Grind depending on our mileage, back down Old Buck to BP to Deep Cove.

Yoga for Running class at Rackets and Runners... discover ways to get more flexible and strong through yoga. We will run through specific yoga movements and patterns to aid in injury prevention and performance. Stiff guys welcome.
This is the first Tenderfoot Boogie training run. It takes as from Squamish Adventure Center to the Tenderfoot Fish Hatchery in Paradise Valley.
We will meet at the Fish Hatchery at 8:00 AM and carpool back to the starting line. This is the first 25 km of the Tenderfoot Boogie. As I am marking the course I am also looking for one or two sweeps. I would definitely buy you a beer after the run and of course the standart bottle of wine for any volunteer. But I have to know by Friday if you are interested.
I have never been up to Mount Gardner. Thanks Baggers, for putting that one on my list.
Claudia, myself and our bikes will be on the 8am ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Bowen Island. From the terminal in Snug Cove will ride to the trail head and then climb Mount Gardner. We hope to be on the 12:30 return ferry, but since neither Claudia or I have ever made this peak, there might be some route finding involved....
We need an excuse to check out the new trails that go from Egmont Road and Hwy 101, down to Dan Bosch Park. The trails opened late last summer and we have yet to check them out.
Last year, there were a couple of obvious turnaround points that can be used again this year. The first is the entrance to the campground, the second is when you come to the far side of the campground and the third is when you reach Hwy 101 and Dan Bosch Park (near Ruby Lake).
Believe it or not, but there is still to much snow in the Whistler area!

Start at Panorama Park in Deep Cove, take Baden Powell to Seymour Demonstration Forest, take the Varley trail to Lynn Headwaters and out along the river to the 3rd Debris Chute back on the upper trail back to Baden Powel and finishing off at Panorama park.. You are looking at about 22 miles, mostly runnable.
An outing for everyone and all speeds up the majestic Chief. Possible post-event cafe or potlach picnic near the water. Meet at the park's parking lot at 8:30am, start at 9:00am. Bring your mojo!
