Rik is going to bring it to my place this Friday night. We'd like to invite anyone who is curious about bad-ass Badwater to join us. We can likely get about 20 people into the living room if we all suck it in.
Rik has comitted some honey brown ales and wasabi peas. I'll do up some popcorn with parmessan and see if I can score some Guiness between now and then. Bring yourself and whatever you figure will add to the party.
Sibylle has another committment\, so we're going to start the show at 7\:00 pm. If Pano still has it\, I'll try to get his copy of Running on the Sun\, (another Badwater video) and make it a double-feature. If he can make the trek in from Surrey on a Friday night\, maybe Ferg will join us?

Your Club Fat Ass Event Hosts
Why\: Because Chad will running the HURT 100 Mile Race in Hawaii at about the same time and the Fools stuck at home don't want him to get too far ahead in the training.
Who\: The Fools and anyone who wants to join in the fun.
Where\: Gilles and Karl will be starting at 09\:00 at the big information board at the corner of Camosun\, 41st Ave and S.W. Marine Dr. because we don't want to leave a car in the Park Centre parking lot overnight. Those planning to do a custom run may want to start at the Park Centre on Sixteenth Avenue. Note that the park and washrooms are open from 09\:00 to 17\:00.

Route\: The course will consist of a 10 kilometer loop plus a short 1.5 K loop which will be done near the end of the twenty-four hours when there is not enough time left to do the 10 K loop again. The 10 K loop is on the south side of Sixteenth Avenue and requires crossing the road. Don't forget to look both ways\, just like your mommy taught you.
Course Description\:
The # refers to the trail numbers as shown on the official park map available at the Park Centre.
DIRECTIONS FOR THE 10K LOOP\: Start and Finish is at the parking lot entrance.
DIRECTIONS FOR THE 1.5K LOOP\: Start and Finish is the gate at the parking lot entrance.
Lap Counting\: You are responsible for counting your own loops. If you can't count then this run is probably not for you.

Why\: Because the Pure Foolishness 50K has been cancelled due to do poor trail conditions and the Fools are very concerned about their lack of hill training for the Coyote Two Moon 100 Miler in March.

When\: Saturday\, January 31\, 2009
Course\:The route is entirely up to you\, but the same roads used by the Yours Truly 50K are highly recommended. They consist entirely of moderate elevation changes on non-technical gravel roads. The latest reports indicate that the 10K loop is snow-free except for the Road E connector between Roads F &\; K. The upper sections of the 25K loop are snow covered\, but runnable. There may be icy sections\, traction devices are recommended. This may change of course\, depending on the amount of snow that falls before Saturday.
Depending on course conditions the Fools may be doing up and down repeats on Road K.

Aid\: Be prepared to be completely self-sufficient. There is no water or other aid available\, so you will only be able to resupply yourself at your vehicle.
