Great Shirt Feedback

The shirt feedback has been great. Glad you like them.

Photo left: A little Ontario FA testing his dads new CFA shirt.

Vanessa Fors has invested a lot of time and love to source the fabric, an innovative material called Chitosante. She also designed the shirts and oversaw the production from beginning to end, answering a lot of anxious questions form your Chief Executive Fat Ass, measuring (thanks to our models Ean and John) and recalculating shrinkage during the screening process. I was amazed how Vanessa, noticing the large chest of one of our members, went back to the drawing table to make sure XL would be wide enough in the chest. Thanks, Vanessa! These shirts are a labour of love. Credits also go to Jess Marshall, who designed the labels and provided the screening artwork and to Michele Sherstan, who spent an evening with me packaging shirts and addressing envelopes.

2005 Point Series Winner Announced

The first annual Club Fat Ass Point Series came to a conclusion last weekend with the final event of the year, the Pure Satisfaction run.

Event Host, Craig Moore, earned 3 points for hosting this event and solidified his lead over Cheryl Johnson and Bill Dagg, who tied for 2nd place. Third place went to Desmond Mott who participated in 10 CFA events this past year.

Craig, who strategically had planned his win by hosting 2 CFA events, pre-registering, showing up for 12 events and collecting garbage along the trails (and stuffing it in his waterbottle - yuck), took home a complimentary 2006 membership in Club Fat Ass and a nice warm hoodie from North Shore Athletics.

Gluttons for Punishment

This weekend saw a Club Fat Ass first with 2 events hosted at the same day and two Club members participating in both events. The Monty went off without a glitch in beautiful Gowland Tod Provincial Park near Victoria on Vancouver Island, Canada. Doug Bodnar and Geoff Palmer took on the challenging 25km Half Monty, hopped on the ferry back to the mainland and arrived in time - well, Doug almost made it in time ;-) for the Midsummer Night version of the 7th Capilano Canyon Night Run. They definitely qualified for the "Gluttons for Punishment" category.

Point Series Updated

The Club Fat Ass Point Series has been updated with points earned during the XTC last month and Bill's Great Peak Ascent yesterday.

Bill Dagg and Craig Moore are leading with 11 points in 5 events each.  Doug MacKay is in third position with 7 points earned in 6 events.  So far Doug has participated in most CFA events this year.
