they bluff with scorn Suicide remarks are torn

Five short companions and I conquered Suicide Bluffs, the newest addition to the Bagger Challenge.

Although not marked on official Mt Seymour trailposts, and cautioned on various maps as an "undeveloped route", the route is easy to find.

Sunshine In September coming up soon!

The holiday weekend is almost here, so it's time to plan for Sunshine in September.

I hope you will join us for this fantastic 21 or 24k run on the trails from Langdale Ferry Terminal. A warning though - with this event having been cancelled last year, it's been a couple of years since i've been on these trails. Expect the directions to be out of date and to get lost! But don't worry - you can't go too far off track.

Given the ferry schedule, this year's event will start Sunday, September 2, at 10:30am from the Langdale Terminal. This means anyone coming over on the ferry will need to be on the 9:40 sailing from Horseshoe Bay.

Goal is to ship you back on the 2:15pm sailing from Langdale, getting you back to HB at 3pm.

I will leave it to you to carpool amongst yourselves.

As always, I will have the car at Langdale and you can leave dry clothes etc in the car for the return trip. Wheatberries is still in the ferry terminal and I'll have baked goods to enjoy after the run.

Hope you can make it and please let me know if you are coming!

Run the Juan de Fuca on August 25

Anyone interested in running/hobbling the Juan de Fuca trail on Saturday, August 25? Plan is to take the ferry over to the island on Friday after work, camp out at the southern trail head and then run north starting at 5:30 am. Hoping to finish in 12 hours but who knows. Then camp at the north end before heading back to Vancouver on Sunday. All of this is flexible and can be adjusted according to the schedules of other people.
